Pottery for Chanoyu (Japanese Tea Ceremony)
Linda Mosley makes pottery in a traditional style that is both functional and an abstract expression of her sense of nature. Japanese architecture, garden design and her study of Urasenke Chanoyu, the Way of Tea, have influenced Ms. Mosley’s work since 1968.
The bowls and covered jars are made for Chanoyu but may be used as you see fit. The chawan (teabowls) are perfect for whisking and drinking matcha (powdered green tea). The mizusashi (covered jars) are used to hold cool water that is dipped with a long-handled bamboo ladle to rinse the chawan.
Linda Mosley is a potter, Chanoyu enthusiast and gardener in Austin, Texas.
